Easter Crafts

Today was craft day here. The kids have been waiting all week to dye the Easter eggs, so I promised we would do that today. They had tons of fun and were really good while they did it. They were SO proud of their work too! Then we made those adorable baby chicks. We took eggs, cracked off the top, put a 2" yellow pom-pom in it, 2 googly eyes and an orange beak. We're going to write names on them and use them for place setting "cards" at the Mulders on Easter. They turned out adorable!

On our way to Hobby Lobby Abigail asked what store we were going to. I told her it's a craft store, but they do have some Easter stuff. She said, "I'm going to call it the Easter Crap Store." Remember...she calls "crafts" "crap." Very nice.

Last night I was blowing out the eggs in preparation for today. Abigail came downstairs (it was like 11:30 at night) and said, "Mom, Easter is not about eggs and bunnies...it's about the real Easter story, Jesus dying on the cross." Melt your heart moment.

Have a wonderful Easter...what a great time of rejoicing!
