My Birthday in Chicago

Colin and I had a great time in Chicago for my birthday. We had a great stay at the Palmer House Hilton, walked downtown and went to the Cubs game. They WON! It was an exciting game and a total blast. It was great to see Joel and Kelly as well! In the middle of the 5th inning the scoreboard said "Happy Birthday Bethany Mulder." Thanks, Mom and Dad - that was a fun thing to see! If you've never been to Wrigley...you must go. So much history and so much fun! It was a GREAT birthday!

Yeah! Yeah!
We actually got to use our "W" flag for the win!

Henry's Scooby-Doo Party

Henry had a big Scooby-Doo party...he had a blast! We had it out at the cottage and had pizza and cake. Henry's favorite gift...a can of Reddi-Wip from my dad. The kids love to have "whooped cream" at my parents' house and have had it sprayed in their mouth since they were babies (thanks, dad!). Abigail's already hoping she gets a can for her birthday!

Henry's Cake Party

Henry was having his big party the Sunday after his birthday, so on Thursday (his actual birthday) YoYo had us over for a cake party at night. Henry was thrilled to wear his Spiderman outfit and loved his Spiderman cake, toys and his new bike. What a fun night!Spidey shooting a web!

Hanks got a new bike for his birthday! Isn't it cute?

A birthday kiss!

Go Cubs!

We are off to Chicago for a overnight get-away! We're celebrating my birthday today (the big 29!) with a night at Wrigley Field watching the Cubs with my brother Joel and sister-in-law, Kelly. I can't wait! Chances are that they will lose though...we've only seen them win four times...and lose 31 times...wow. :) I'll be back with pictures soon!

300, Potty Training and Blueberries

300. That's how many posts I have on this blog. When I started blogging, I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy it, wasn't sure if people would care, and wasn't sure if I'd continue it. Over two years later and 300 posts later, I'm still at it! And I love it. I can't believe how many times I reference old posts for info (most recently, "When did we pick blueberries last year?). I still enjoy it and have no desire to quit anytime soon.

Potty Training. Henry is doing awesome. I'd say he trained in a day. He for sure wakes up dry from naps, and even with a pull-up on at night, he's been waking up dry! What a relief that it was so easy for us! I really think the key (Becky, are you listening, you asked for advice!) is to WAIT. Both of my kids were about three...and both potty trained very easily.

Blueberries. We went blueberry picking yesterday with my mom, Lois and Brett. It was a gorgeous day and we had a great time picking tons of blueberries! We came home with 20 pounds which will last us a little bit, but we'll end up getting more before the season is over. Here are a few pics from yesterday! :)

Colin's (almost) Triathlon

Colin was planning to take part in the Grand Haven Triathlon this morning. However, it was too rough for them to swim (5 foot waves, I guess) so instead they did a Duathlon...a 5K run, 20K bike, then anothe 5K run. Colin did awesome! He was third in his division with a time of 1:25:27. I went to watch with the kids and Brett came (he's in town from Boston) with Lois and Andy and then Haans, Anita and the girls showed up too! It was a fun morning! Oh, and yesterday he ran a very difficult 10K...my crazy husband! :)

Potty Training

We started potty training Henry on Monday. Since then I've learned two of my friends are doing the same with their young sons. Henry has been awesome. He had one accident when we left the house on Monday, but that's it! I've been putting him in underwear with pull-ups for naps and bed (but he's been dry after naps!). I'm almost leary to type this, but...it's been really easy so far!

Today Abigail had swimming lessons again (M-F for two weeks) so we did that this morning. Then we went to my parents' pool from about noon until 3:00. Home for naps and then dinner with the Bosgraafs at Baker Lofts. Fun day and a fun night! Gotta love Summer!

Beach Ballerinas

Abigail LOVES spending time at the Mulder cottage. She loves the beach! This year she got this great bathing suit from Grandma Yo-Yo. Bebe of course got a matching one. :) Aren't the two bathing ballerinas cute (and a tad bit sassy)?
