Lists, School, Soccer...

My To-Do List is two pages long. I feel like I never get to cross things off. I'll even admit to adding things to the list that I already did, just to be able to cross something off once in awhile. This is a crazy time of year, always is, but is only crazier this year. Maybe because BOTH kids start school on Tuesday. Or because I'm feeling so cruddy with this pregnancy. Or because I waited until yesterday to finally call for dentist, hair and eye doctor appointments for the kids. Either way...I'm a little overwhelmed. But, a routine will start (whether I'm ready or not!) on Tuesday and life will be good...right??

The kids had an open house/ice cream social at school last night. They both enjoyed seeing their rooms and getting a feel for the school. Even Henry...who the day before had screamed at school. Here's the story: we had to go to meet his teacher for a short 15 minute get-to-know you type of thing. Even though we know Mrs. B (Abigail had her) I know Henry is apprehensive (read: F-R-E-A-K-E-D) about school so I thought it would be good to go to one of those meetings. We had to wait in the hall while she finished up with another student. Well, she came outside and said "Hi Henry" and he bolted. I mean bolted, screaming and crying down the hall. Lovely. After I chased him down he was still in hysterics wondering if I was going to leave him. He finally calmed down and played a bit with Abigail. So anyway, I was happy when he did pretty well last night at school. There were lots of other kids/parents there, so that may have helped. Tuesday I go with him for a shortened class, so next Friday is the real test...pray for us (and Mrs. B too I'd say)!

Abigail started soccer tonight. She wants "to be like Sarah" our neighbor who loves soccer and is in fifth grade. So cute really. She has a lot to learn, but did well and says she loves it. Right after practice she said, "Mom, I want to play soccer EVERY day!" I'm glad she's enjoying it so far.

Lots of Updates

Lots of catch up on...I've been neglecting the blog for awhile.

PREGNANCY: I am now almost 10 weeks and not feeling so great. I'm sick to my stomach all day and sleeping at night is very difficult. I just got a prescription to hopefully make me feel better and it seems to be working for a little bit at least. I was sick with Abigail and Henry too so I know this is normal for me, but it's still not fun! The good news is that with both kids it was done around 14-16 weeks so I'm hopeful that in a month or so I'll be feeling much better. I've lost 4 pounds so far which is fine, but shouldn't be the trend. :) Otherwise things are good. The kids know now and Abigail is ecstatic...Henry is whatever about it. Abby of course wants a girl, Henry a boy. And yes, we'll be finding out the sex.

SCHOOL: Abigail and Henry start school on Tuesday, September 2. Abigail will be going to kindergarten three full days a week, Henry to threeschool two mornings a week. Abigail cannot wait, Henry is scared. I've second guessed myself about sending Henry, but I think it will be good for him in many ways, one of them being speech. Colin also starts on the 2nd, but has meetings all next week. Oh are we in for a shock...Colin is such an active dad that the kids aren't going to know what hit them! And my days of sleeping in are so numbered (sniff, sniff).

BIRTHDAYS: No birthdays here until Colin's on Halloween. It's been a busy, fun month for Henry, myself and Abigail. Here are some pictures of Abigail's "Fancy Nancy" party:
MY SISTER: My sister, Rebecca, is having her first baby (and my first nephew!) in November. We were joking around taking pregnancy pics of her on Sunday, but a couple turned out really cute! Doesn't she look great?

Happy Birthday, Abigail!

Five years ago, on Monday, August 18 I gave birth via emergency c-section to Abigail! She was due on August 12, but that came and went with no progress. I went in on Sunday night, August 17 to be induced and after a scary night of her heart rate dropping really, really low I was rushed in for an emergency c-section. Colin hardly got in scrubs in time since they were moving so fast, he came in the room and they had already started. At 5:57 am Abigail MacKena was born, 6 pounds 5 ounces and beautiful.

Thanks for sticking with my for my sappy story...feels like yesterday.

She had an awesome "Fancy Nancy" party last night and loved every minute of it. I'll post pictures soon. For now...Happy Birthday Abigail!

A Big Day

Today is our 8th anniversary! 8 years ago (at the ripe age of barely 21) I married my best friend. I know it sounds cliche, but I really did. Anyone who knows Colin knows that I sure am blessed. My husband is the most amazing, caring, patient, fun-loving husband in the world. I never imagined what an incredible dad he would be either! He is seriously the best...and I am so lucky to call him mine! We're celebrating tonight with dinner and a play...can't wait.

The other big part of our day was that we got to see Mulder baby #3 at an ultrasound! Yes, we are expecting our third...due to arrive in March. The official due date is March 22 (putting me at 7 weeks, 1 day) but I will go earlier because I have c-sections. We are so excited! After 9 months of Clomid (fertility drugs used to conceive Abigail and Henry) we didn't get pregnant. We decided to take the summer "off" and reevaluate in the Fall. Wouldn't you know...I got pregnant...without drugs...something we've never thought possible!

We haven't told the kids yet and don't plan to for a bit...just in case you see them! :)

Here's a picture of our peanut...teeny tiny, but we saw the heart beating! :)
