I've been tagged

I've been "tagged" by Mandakay. The rules are this: List 6 weird things about yourself and then tag 6 people to do the same thing. Here they are!
1. I am extremely, I mean over-the-top, claustrophobic. You will never, ever see me in a cave or crawlspace or anything of the sort. I can't stand anything over my head, makes me want to puke and I get really anxious. The weird part? Colin says that almost every morning when he wakes up I have a sheet over my head!
2. I get rainchecks for food that is on sale. I never would have though this was weird, but people at work were crying because they were laughing so hard at me. No, I'm not going to get a raincheck for one box of crackers that is ten cents off, but I will (and did just last week) get a raincheck for 6 boxes of Frosted Mini Wheats when they are half off!
3. My breakfast drink of choice...Coke.
4. I HATE a lot of words...they make me cringe or make my stomach turn. I will not type them on here (sorry), but really I just hate, hate, hate them!
5. I love to get the mail. I will almost always meet the mailman outside!
6. I have NO IDEA how many kids I want anymore. Somedays I'm great with the 2 we have, somedays I want 3, somedays I want 4...no idea. Maybe something Colin and I should really start discussing!

So there you are! I'm sure I could come up with plenty more "weirdisms" of myself!
Unfortunately, not a ton of my friends have blogs, so I will only tag two people...Rachel and Kelly.

Abigail's First Snowman

Abigail and Henry got a really cute kit from the Walcotts for Christmas. It's this box that has everything to make a snowman except for the snow. It's been sitting on a shelf for weeks (months?) now and Abigail has been dying to make a snowman. The other night she finally got her wish and made one with Colin. She did just about everything herself. Cute, isn't it?

Almost Training Time...

In August I plan to walk in the Breast Cancer 3-Day walk. It's almost time to start the 24 week training period. I have to get ready since the walk is three days. Each day we will walk 20 miles. Yes, 20 miles each day. That's 60 miles total...I hope I make it! I need to raise $2200 to benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in order to participate in the walk. Check out my website here.

WELCOME SIERRA!

My best friend, Kelly, had a little girl today at 4:10 pm. Sierra Mae is 5 pounds, 6 ounces. She's doing great, just needs a little help slowing down her breathing. Say a little prayer for Sierra, Kelly, James and Simon if you get a chance!

They Have Invaded Abigail!

The sickies, that is! She crawled in bed with me around 6:30 this morning and then puked. She has continued to throw up, bathe, throw up, bathe all day so far. Lovely. Henry's still in pajamas, Abigail is in her fourth (or fifth...I lost count!) pair of pajamas and I have not showered or done anything today. Abigail NEVER gets sick, so she's really pathetic right now and wants "Dr. Grampa Bill to pix (fix) it." Poor thing.

I better get a shower in while both kids are resting...I'm sure my customers at the restaurant would appreciate that tonight!

Christmas Pyramid

I finished a layout for a scraplift challenge this weekend. I used pictures from Christmas of 2005 when we all made our pyramid...sad looking group, aren't we?

We're back...

Henry's appointment with Dr. Burdo-Hartman went well today. We spent about 1 1/2 hours with her going over Henry's health, physical and social history, observing Henry and discussing next steps. She concluded that Henry is hypotonic, meaning that his muscles are slower to "do what they need to do." That's the main reason that he has been on the later end of physical developmental milestones. She assured as that he has just about caught up and should not have any longterm problems with this. That was good news to us!

We then discussed his speech development for awhile. She has encouraged us/referred us to look into the Ottawa Area ISD for speech therapy. Henry will hopefully have some inhouse speech therapy through their Early On program or different program. She seemed to think it was appropriate that we are dealing with this early. So, that's where we are right now. We will contact the ISD and see what program(s) they think are appropriate for Henry and conitnue from there. We will see Dr. Hartman again in mid-April.

Colin and I are both glad we went today. I think that Colin's reservations about going were calmed and our concerns were acknowledged and dealt with. Thank you for your prayers, calls and emails of encouragements and just for thinking about us. Please continue praying as we go to the next step for Hanks (and will probably have to get rid of the pacifier!!) Thanks!

Gearing up...

For Henry's appointment, that is. Even though he's walking like a champ, we have still decided to keep his appointment in Grand Rapids. It's scheduled this Friday at 9:00 am and should last about two hours. We'd appreciate prayers! I'll try to post an update on here Friday.

Gift Ideas

To all my friends who are mothers...

If you don't think it is too soon after Christmas to start dropping Valentine's Day gift hints, I have a great gift idea for you! Colin got me a ring from Nelle and Lizzy for Christmas that is so cool! I love it! It was backordered and came today and it is so cool! I got this one in the double with Henry and Abigail's names on it. It's really cool how they fit together on your finger. Just wanted to share!

And for all of my friends...

I also got a cool bracelet for Christmas from my mom. Then I got beads from my mom, Colin and Lois too. It's a Pandora bracelet in silver. I love it!

Loving Christmas Break!

Colin has this whole week off yet, so we are packing in the fun family days! We spent Monday at the GR Children's Museum where I got some of those cool pics. I got the ideas from my friend, Kelly's blog - thanks, Kel! Then , Tuesday we went to the Aquatic Center - we love it there!
