Fun Times

We've had a fun day so far today! This morning we all got to sleep in a bit, not long enough for me but a little bit at least, and then we went to the Aquatic Center with Anita and the girls. The kids had a blast! I got a couple of pictures, but not real great ones. But since I had a pictureless post last time, here are a couple pics to check out. Have a good day!

Slacking...

I've been slacking on this blog lately. To be honest, I've been busy and tired and this hasn't been near the top of the priority list. It's been a week to say the least and I'm exhausted...and I have the whole day ahead of me.

Henry has been a difficult child lately. His newest thing is not walking. And by that I mean when we are going somewhere he decides he doesn't want to walk and sits on the floor. It is SO annoying! Yesterday it took us over 20 minutes to get out of school after walking down to see my mom because he wouldn't walk. I don't really know what to do either, because I feel like I shouldn't ever pick him up because I said I wouldn't, but I don't exactly feel cool having my son defy me like that. Yesterday I was so angry with him...the struggles of parenthood.

Colin and I got a chance to go out last night. Boy, it's been awhile. It wasn't the most exciting time, but it was time together and without the kids. We had to go buy some new doors for the house so we did that and went out to dinner. It was a fun night!

Abigail's at school right now and Henry goes to speech soon. He's been drooling a little bit again, so that's my concern/question for the speech therapist today. She's great (we love her!) so hopefully she'll have some ideas or suggestions for us. Abigail and I will probably grab a quick lunch together before we pick up Hanks. I'm working Tuesdays instead of Thursday nights now, so I have tonight off. I'm really looking forward to that!

Have a great day...sorry it's another pictureless post - I promise I'll get some pics in the next one!

87 degrees

Last year, on October 12th, I blogged about the first snow of the year. Today Abigail and Henry spent over an hour in bathing suits playing outside in their pool. So weird really! It's been fun to have this hot weather, but I must admit that I am also looking forward to the cooler weather predicted for Tuesday of this week. Time for some fall weather! Plus...my pumpkins aren't going to last in 85 degree heat!

---------------------------------------------------------

We had a busy, busy weekend at work! Friday night we participated in "National Denim Day" at work to raise money for Breast Cancer Research. I donated all of my tips from the evening for the cause...right around $200. Yeah! Saturday night was rockin' at the restaurant - busy ALL night! There were like five homecomings going on in town, so it was crazy busy...and I loved it! My sales were great, my tips awesome and I slept like a baby last night!

---------------------------------------------------------

Today was church. I was looking forward to being upstairs for the service since I am so often involved in nursery or children's church. When I brought Henry to the nursery I realized they were short a volunteer...so guess who missed the sermon again? It's getting old and I miss that piece on Sundays, so I have to learn to say no and find someone else to cover when things like this come up again.

We took the kids to Lowes after church. Fun, fun, right? No, not really for the Mulder Family...we aren't exactly a Lowe's Lovin' family. We did good though and more than likely picked out a new front door and new back door. At least that's a little exciting...or not really.

---------------------------------------------------------
This is a random post, I tell you. Oh, one more piece of randomness...Colin's cousin, Elizabeth had her twins early this morning. She carried them almost full term! They were 6 pounds, 5 ounces and 6 pounds, 4 ounces. Wow. Abigail was 6 pounds, 5 ounces...I can NOT imagine 2 of her in me!! Congrats to Elizabeth and Roman!

Tomorrow's Agenda:
-Bring Abigail to school
-Bring Henry to daycare
-Target Run
-Old Navy (Hanks needs some pants)
-Make some phone calls
-Pick up Abigail
-Lunch with Abigail
-Grocery Store

We'll see what we do after that...nap maybe? :)

Time to focus in on the last 15 minutes of "Brothers and Sisters." I LOVE, LOVE that show! I just started getting into it and think it's awesome!

Moments Like This...

Yesterday was a tough "mom" day. Henry was difficult most of the day and then when I picked Abigail up from school both kids were difficult. I took a little "mom time" when Colin got home (he's the best!!) because I wasn't sure I could function the rest of the night without it!

Today we had a good day. The kids were great all day! Henry went down for a nap and Abigail had a quiet time this afternoon. Abigail may watch a Veggie Tales movie, read books or play a little during her quiet time. Toward the end of her quiet time I was getting ready for work. She came out of her room with a paper for me. She showed it to me and my heart swelled and tears came to my eyes. She wrote her name. By herself. And it's beautiful! She's been practicing writing letters at school and we've been working on it at home as well. They've done A, B and C at school so far. My mom and I both worked with her a little on Y so she could spell Abby. This was the first day that she did it by herself without help.

God gives my moments like that to remind me that some days are tough, but the rewards of motherhood are amazing. My baby, my little girl, is growing up so fast and it's the most amazing thing to watch.

Here are some pictures. See it? The big purple A, then the tall b, another tall b and then an awesome y? Don't you love the b? Humor me...

Only Tuesday?

I feel like it should be the end of the week already! We had a busy Monday and today has been pretty busy so far too! Abigail had school yesterday and Henry went to Jean's for the day. I ran a ton of errands in the 1 1/2 I had in the morning without either of the kids. After I picked Abigail up from school she and I went to Rivertown to do a little shopping. She's a great shopper and we really have fun together! Henry needed some new fall clothes and I found him a bunch of stuff at the Children's Place. I bought him 3 shirts, 1 sweater, a pair of corduroy pants and a tie (for the Holidays) for a total of $25!! Can't beat deals like that!

While I was at the mall someone from work called and asked me to work, so I said I would. I barely had time to change my clothes and then went to work. After work I helped Colin grade a little bit and then worked on a fun new project!

Colin's cousin is having twins any day now. She's having two boys - Miles and Marcel. I found the cutest baby blocks that Emily makes (she has amazing stuff)! Here's the tutorial to make them. They were quite easy to make, but are a little time consuming. I am absolutely in love with how they turned out! I think they will be given to everyone I know who is having babies! Here are some pictures of them:

That's all today! Have a good one!
