Happy 9th Birthday, Abigail!

Happy 9th Birthday, Abigail! We celebrated Abby's birthday all weekend! :) Her actual birthday was on Saturday. She started the day by picking up Uncle Tavid from the airport. She also learned, on the car ride there, that she is going to spend a week in Washington D.C. with YoYo and Papa in October! A dream come true for my history geek! :) When she returned I took the kids to her favorite restaurant for lunch, Good Earth. After lunch we went to our other favorite place, Kelly's Market, for treats. Hawaiian shaved ice for Abby, Vanilla Sea Salt caramels for Henry and me and Skittles for Johanna.

 When we got home she was able to play with a present that YoYo and Papa had dropped off earlier in the day - McKenna's bed! The girls played with it for a long time! Henry also gave her a present he bought here - a bracelet with charms. He picked it out and paid for it himself. :)

When dad got home from work we gave Abby the rest of her presents. New earrings, an umbrella and a ripstick from mom and dad. Henry also bought her a Furreal Pet Chimpanzee. That boy has a BIG heart!

The next day, Sunday, we celebrated her birthday with the VanderVliet side at lunch after church. She LOVED the president book that she got as well as bracelets and candy. Her favorite was a little box from Grandpa and Grandma where she can save things - money, trinkets, etc. Oh, and the $10 from them! She requested her favorite meal: steak, hashbrown potatoes and corn with banana bar cake for dessert. Yum!

In the evening we headed to the Mulder cottage for even one more birthday celebration. Abby loved having her uncles and family from Seattle and Boston there to help her celebrate. She loved her gifts of Bath and Body stuff, yet another Presidents book and McKenna and her dog, Cooper.

The birthday celebration finished up on Monday. Colin and Uncle Tavid took Abby and Henry to Michigan's Adventure for their birthdays. They were each allowed to take one friend. Abby chose Annika and Henry chose Elliot. They had an awesome day!
