"Going Green" sure is catching on, isn't it? It's possible to buy organic and/or environmentally safe of almost everything it seems! We've been trying to make small changes to better the environment around here. My favorite change? Reusable shopping bags! I seriously LOVE them! I have 2 for Target and 2 for Meijer and I seriously cannot believe how much you can fit in them! I can get all my groceries in 2-3 of them without a problem. They are so much more convenient too...they don't roll around in the van, easier to carry inside, etc. I know some people say they get plastic because they reuse them and that's all good and all, but they still go in the trash that way...plus it's amazing how many bags they give you! I watched them at Meijer yesterday put one roll of papertowels in one bag, eggs in another, etc...the lady had less groceries than me and probably 8-10 plastic bags. I had my 2 blue, reusable totes. LOVE them!
We've also been doing a better job of recycling, planted a garden, will be installing a clothes line, not using lights during the day if we can help it and have had our thermostat off as much as possible. Small things...but they help! I've also been buying more cleaning products safe for the environment...and they work great!
What changes have you made?

thats good, I am proud of yo green familia.
we are using those recyclable plastic bags from D&W. my mom LOVES them!!!!! aand I have been drinking a lot of water (that probably makes a difference.. somewhere...somehow..) And I just got a mope-head to drive. which can go 100 miles on one gallon. yeah so I thought I was pretty cool with that. HEY I CAN DRIVE THAT TO YOUR HOUSE! NOT EVEN KIDDING YOU! yay!
I love the reusable grocery bags too. We don't have the place for a clothes line, so I am setting the dryer on a lower heat setting and checking it more often. Clothes can get dry surprisingly fast. I've also looked into a co-op garden and I'm really jealous that you have one in your yard. :)
Oh, and we don't use the heat dry on our dishwasher. They dry just fine without.
