Titleless

I can't think of a title for today's post...sorry. Friday already? The days are flying by...I'm still freaking out about packing in time for Florida, things are crazy!

Henry had a speech evaluation today by a Speech Therapist. It was very interesting to talk to her and watch her observing and interacting with Henry. She was here for a little over an hour and Henry really liked her which was awesome! Her overall assessment of Hanks put him at a solid 15 month+ range for comprehension in language, meaning he understands for the most part age appropriate things. She'd like to see him learn lots of body parts next so that's what we'll be working on more. He definitely has skills above the 15 month mark, but not enough to bump him into that group right now. As far as verbal skills, she placed him in a 6-9 month range, bordering on 9-12 months. Again, he has skills in other areas, but he is solid in the 6-9 month range. Even though we already knew that it's still a little hard to hear, but we also know he has already made improvements and will just continue those. Right now, Katie, the therapist (Who is great! She's my age and really friendly!) is recommending twice a week group "therapy" for Henry. Basically he will go to a playgroup two times a week for 1 1/2 hours each time and have group play, a craft, signing time and one on one time with Katie. He won't start until after Spring Break, on April 10. I'm excited because I think it will only be beneficial for him! In the meantime, we will be working on helping him perfect the sign for "more" as well as "all done." We will also work on naming body parts. He's really doing just fine and I am very happy with our decision to move forward with this therapy. Thanks again for the support and prayers we get! The emails and comments seem to come right at the right times! :)

I'll leave you with a new layout that show's the genes of Uncle Tavid, Brett and Joel shining through on Hanks.

So good to hear that Hanks is doing pretty good! Things will all fall together and the playgroup sounds like a good program!

Look at those curls is RIGHT! I don't know if it's genetically possible for Derek and me to have a curly-haired child... I enjoy seeing yours. :) Sounds like Hanks is doing well! The playgroup sounds perfect... what a great resource.

Have fun in Florida... when do you leave?
