Kate

Have you met Kate? Have you read her story? If you haven't, you should. Here are two links to follow: YouTube Video and Caring Bridge Site. The quick version is that this little five year-old is very sick with a brain tumor. I saw her picture, saw those eyes and felt captivated to read her story. I think about Kate at least a hundred times a day. I think of her mom, dad, brother and sister. I don't know why this has hit me so hard...possibly because she's five like Abigail. Or because she seemed so full of life, like Abigail. Or because it's a reminder of how quickly life can change. I have talked to Abigail about Kate. We pray for her many times a day. We don't know her at all, but we believe in the God who made her, the greatest healer of all. We are working on a care package for Kate...Abigail's idea. She said she knows "just what a five year-old would like." My heart aches for the McRae family. Pray with me.

4th of July '09

We had a great 4th of July this year! We spent the day at the Mulder cottage. We started with the annual Glory Day Parade followed by lunch with all the cottage people. Add in a little beach time and some awesome fireworks at night and we really had a great day! My favorite part of the day was at the picnic. Henry kept saying how hungry he was and I told him he could eat after the prayer. After a lengthy prayer by one of the cottage owners we were listening to some announcements about the associations 100th anniversary coming up next year. I didn't know where Henry went. I turned and there he was sitting in the chair eating his "lunch" that he had helped himself to while everyone was listening to the announcements...a Mulder Morsel cookie, a handful of Hershey kisses and some cherries. That's my boy.

Pool Time

We have wonderful friends who have a gorgeous pool and backyard. We were invited over there for a great day of swimming. The kids loved it! It took prompting, but Abigail finally went down the slide. Henry went down at least 50 times. Johanna was loving being outside too...snoozing in the chair. We love Summer!

NYC...Brett and Luna's Wedding...take 1

This is really late, but here are a few pictures from our trip to NYC for Brett and Luna's Hindi wedding. We really had a great time there! We got to meet Luna's wonderful family, hang out in Times Square (our awesome hotel was right there!), do a little sight-seeing and then have a wonderful wedding and reception. Here are just a few of the pictures!
